The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk, held Sunday, October 5 in down town Los Angeles, raised more than $625,000 for Alsheimer's disease care, support and research. Nearly 3,100 dedicated individuals from across Los Angeles County participated in the 16th annual event, held by the Alzheimer's Association, California Southland chapter.
The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk is nationally presented by Genworth Financial and locally presented by Wells Fargo. Memory Walk events are held across the country in an effort to provide support and help find a cure. Since 1989, Memory Walk has raised more than $230 million for the Alzheimer's cause.The Alzheimer's Association, California Southland chapter, is a donor-supported, voluntary health organization committed to research, care and support for those living with Alzheimer's disease and their families in the counties of Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino.The Alzheimer's Association also provides education for health care professionals, caregivers and the general public; advocacy for improved public policy and legislation; and financial support to increase research to find the cause and cure for this devastating disease.See the full content of this document
