[Mark Ridley-Thomas] said that the re-opening of the MLK hospital requites a systemic approach, that begins with a cohesive vision and plan for the community. Ridley-Thomas said that the Senate Select Committee on the Los Angeles County Health Care Crisis will hold its first informational hearing within the next few weeks in Los Angeles, and invited witnesses will include many of the people who attended the roundtable, such as Dr. [Robert Ross] of the California Endowment, as well as top officials from both UCLA and USC medical schools, and executives from nearby hospitals.
