Summary

Elton Brand of the Los Angles Clippers is having a career season teaming with his new additions Sam Cassell and Cuttino Mobley. Brand's Clippers are on pace for their first playoff berth since the 1996-97 season. At 6 feet 8 inches tall, 268 pounds, Brand is undersized to be playing power forward yet still managed to average at least 18 points and 10 rebounds in five of his six NBA seasons.

Brand has already had a stellar career; he shared the NBA Rookie of the Year honors with Steve Francis in 1999-2000 and also was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in the same season.

After leading Duke in scoring with 17 points per game, averaging 9 rebounds and with 86 blocked shots, Brand was the consensus National Player of the Year and a unanimous First Team All-American selection by AP. He also was the 1999 ACC Player of the Year and USA Basketball's Man of the Year.
