Compton Students Get Jazzed About Books

Summary

"We've been participating in this program since the very beginning," said E. Marie Truby, president of the Compton Education Association, whose outfit resembled that of Dr. Seuss' lovable Cat in the Hat. "And this year, teachers from across our school district helped create these beautiful decorations," she said pointing to the large murals that made the walls pop with bright colors and characters from books being read that day.

On March 2, the school district's board room was turned into a storyville complete with colorful murals, piles of books and 'Cat in the Hat' red and white tall hats.
