Summary
As children, people often have an idealistic view on how the future will pan out. Children hope to live worry free lives, surrounded by warmth, love and happiness. Unfortunately as we grow older we realize that life is not perfect and mine was no exception. While things constantly seemed to be looking down for me, I tried to hold my head up high. From spending nights on the streets to begging for food to circulating in and out of the foster care system and eventually finding my way. Life has been anything but easy. But what has kept me going all these years was the voice inside telling me that life can get better. And I do not have to be another statistic. I chose my destiny. I made conscious decisions of where I wanted my life to go. I did not succumb to my surroundings. The world around me said that I should have never even gotten this far. I am living proof to children everywhere that there are no bounds in life. We can dream the biggest dreams and they can come true.
