If it were left up to mainstream media outlets, [Barack Obama], who was the keynote speaker for the DNC on its opening night at Boston's Fleetwood Center, would be a blip on the news' radar screen. Well, that's exactly what happened to Obama anyway, after he gave a stirring speech, which landed him several standing ovations from an aroused audience.
Obama, a civil rights attorney and the first African American to serve as president of the Harvard Law Review, is often referred to as the rising star in the Democratic Party. The 42-year-old Obama is a broker of two worlds. His dad is Kenyan and his mother is white.
