"They are most likely left out," [Ivan Houston] said. "We are trying to expose these kids to opportunities they wouldn't have in the existing education system. Our goal is to enrich their lives."
"We deal a lot with Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD)," he said. "We realize their shortcomings. There needs to be more confidentiality with the [school] and teachers, and less bureaucracy. Proverbial schools have great education. Private schools I don't know enough about, but I'm sure they are good. I like the charter schools, but I think they need more community support. Charter schools provide hands on, face to face education to their students."It was founded in 1974 on the 50th anniversary of the Golden State Mutual Life Insurance Company by African American entrepreneurs and educational leaders who wanted to create a non-profit organization that supported underrepresented minorities.See the full content of this document
