"It's great to add another win to our streak. We accomplished what we set out to do," said [Marlon Woods]. "It wasn't about me trying to score points to get Outstanding Performer honors; it was about scoring points for the team."

"This really wasn't a good weekend for us compared to past championships," [Kenneth Giles] said. "We had some injuries to athletes that would have performed well had they been here this week. We also had some athletes who didn't quite fare as well as we expected but we did have some younger athletes step up and exceed our expectations. All in all, we did what we came to do."

GREENSBORO, NC -The Hampton University Lady Pirates and Norfolk State University Spartans won the 2009 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Irwin Belk Track on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University.
