He was later appointed President of the Youth and Presiding Elder of the United Church of the Living God organization; and subsequently, Pastor of the Los Angeles Church. In 1980, Elder Tillman was installed Bishop, 1993 State Bishop, 1995 Assistant/Presiding Overseer and 2005 Chief Overseer. Bishop and his faithful wife worked as a team in the ministry accomplishing great fears for God's kingdom.
Bishop loved to admire God's creations. He had a way with words that would call you to attention that totally amused you. He would say, "Be good, be careful, take care of yourself and have a nice day". That was his way of never saying goud-bye, but he blessed in your departure. When asked how he was, he would reply, "Mighty Fine". He was extremely loving, caring and full of compliments. He was a wonderful husband and father, always proud of his wife and children. He often preceded his sermons with praises for his family. He was humble, yet straight-forward, a good provider, kind hearted, loyal and faithful to all.
