Summary
As a newspaper columnist, she had a great social impact and it gained her numerous national awards and top ratings on the list of the nation's Black newspaper. Her "Social Chronicler" column was the "creme de la creme" and was widely read by Black women. She was a pioneer member of the Second Baptist Church.
She helped organized the local chapter of the National Association of Media Women and the Black Women's Forum and was committed to helping many community groups, youth organizations geared toward helping the Black Family. She served as president of Links, Jack and Jill, and the Lullaby Guild of the Children's Home Society, and was a member of the League of Allied Arts, the Regalettes, Inc., and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
