It's expected to be a three-team race in the boys' field between [Crenshaw], Taft and last year's champion Dorsey while Carson is expected to break Birmingham's hold on the girls' team title.

The two biggest stars to keep an eye will be Crenshaw sophomore DeAnthony Thomas and Taft junior D.J. Morgan. Morgan was a three-time City champion last year, winning the 100 meters and both hurdles (110 and 300 meters), and will be the favorite to repeat in the hurdles after winning league with the City's fastest times this year. (14.35 and 39.79 seconds, respectively)

Manual Arts seniors Terrance Conway will be the favorite in the 400 after posting the City's fastest time (49.00) in the league championship.
