The more I watch the behavior of conservative Republicans, the more amazed I become. It goes without saying that they don't see the world like the rest of us, and I don't have a problem with that, but the world they do envision is absolutely delusional. They yearn for the world that's portrayed in the movies of the thirties, forties, and fifties. They envisage themselves prancing around the world embracing the persona of Clark Gable, Gary Grant, and John Wayne, with the rest of the world content to be their pets. They see a world that looks up to them all agog with admiration-not for talent, not for character-just for being. The world they envisage is a screenwriter's fantasy, so they need to get over it. If they don't, they're going to get the United States blown right off the face of the Earth, one piece at a time.
Conservatives are so passionate about viewing the world as dramatized in Hollywood that they can no longer tell the difference between fact and fiction. They're so desperate to reinforce their unfounded delusions about the United States that they've become blind. They're blind to the true horrors of war, they're blind to the hypocrisy of their words as opposed to their deeds, and they're blind to how ridiculous they're boorish behavior makes them look in the eyes of the world, and now the American people. So now they're reduced to stumbling blindly forward like a big, clumsy Jethro, with a selfserving, misguided, and immoral certitude that's demolished what little credibility they had left.See the full content of this document
