Summary
The point is, if you're offended by the word "ni**a", or any other disparaging term, the last thing you want to do is to let your enemy know it. By doing that you're only insuring the word's use. Why give your enemy a weapon that he can use to, attack you? That's like telling the enemy, "You can torture me all you like, just don't put me in a closed-in place-I have claustrophobia." Do you think he's going to say ok, or is he going to seal you alive in the first coffin he can find? Similarly, by letting the world know you get upset when you hear the word "ni**a", you're guaranteeing that the word will never die.
The pursuit of excellence is the best revenge. If you don't like the names that the White man calls you, don't get angry-that's the response he wants. Hit him where it hurts-in his pride. Focus your anger in a positive direction by dedicating your life to growth and excellence. After all, what White boy is going to call Colin Powell a ni**a-he'll only make himself look like a damn fool. And look at Barack Obama-the brother's barely been in Washington two weeks and they want to run him for president already. The reason for that is excellence. There is nothing more impressive in this world than a Black person who's gone through all we've been through in this country, and then comes out the other end well rounded, educated and successful. You just don't refer to people of that caliber as ni**as. I don't care who you are, you refer to them as sir, or the female equivalent. So no, the word "ni**a" doesn't bother me at all, because I don't identify with the term. As I see it, if you don't consider yourself a ni**a, why take ownership of the word and try to control its use? In fact, I have a recurring fantasy. I fantasize about opening up The First Ni**a National Bank and building it right in the middle of Trailer Trash, Mississippi. Then once it's built, I'd sit in my office and watch the Klan members come in, hood in hand, trying to explain why I shouldn't repossess their sheets. And as they're begging, I'd lean back in my high back chair and smile at 'em.See the full content of this document

The 'Ni**A' Controversy: Revisited
I thought I'd take a moment to revisit what I call the "ni**a" controversy. I've addressed this issue before, but based on a discussion I had earlier this week, I've come to the conclusion that I didn't make myself clear, so I thought I'd try it again. I realize that what I'm about to say may be a minority opinion in the Black community, so I'm writing in the first person to insure that my words don't reflect on anyone other...
