Veronica's View; Reflections About Coretta Scott King

Summary

Her life's work had been in supporting his dream, one he spoke about resoundingly the night before he was taken from her. It was not a usual occupation for a woman in those days, that of being the wind beneath her husband's wings. But she was, as he said, "his partner." As the centerpiece of his life, she helped him soar to incredible heights. And she did it with the grace, dignity and the refinement of a monarch.

The way she chose was to channel her grief and sense of loss into continuing her husband's work. After all, he had a dream for his children and advancing that dream not only brought a sense of continuity to her life during that time of distress, it was now up to her to make his dream come true. I believe that keeping his dream alive is what gave her life and the will to live.

I don't know if we ever comprehend the extent of her personal sacrifice.
