Summary


By the 1950s, Armistice Day had taken on another significance. It was a day not only to honor those who had lost their lives in World War I, but also to honor all those who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States. In 1954, the name of Armistice Day was officially changed to Veterans Day. In some places Veterans Day is still called Armistice Day and in others it's called Remembrance Day, Victory Day, or World War I Day.
