The celebration had a capacity crowd of over 500. Honored at the anniversary luncheon was Zeta of the Year, Zamelia Doswell and the Woman of the Year, Rev. Delores Lakey-Stewart.
The Woman of the Year, Rev. Delores Lakey-Stewart is an educator, and in that capacity she has been department chair, career counselor, helped others with professional writing, poetry, vocal and instrumental expertise. Rev. Lakey-Stewart has been saluted by many organizations, has written poems to local and national acclaim, is the author of two books of poetry and is writing a book of church skits adapted to the African American church.In reflecting on the history of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, it is based on the precepts of Finer Womanhood, Scholarship, Service and Sisterly love. Alpha Psi Zeta chapter felt that the Zeta of the Year, Zamelia Doswell and the Woman of the Year, Rev. Delores Lakey-Stewart exhibit outstanding dynamic leadership, work in many community endeavors and maintain the ideals and principles of the sorority.The 2007 deserving scholarship recipients are as follows: * Undergraduate Zeta of the Year, Chey' Gaston, a junior at USC, majoring in Psychology. * Sha-Rhonda Donald, attends California State University at Los Angeles, majoring in Nursing. * Brittani Jackson, graduated in June from Charter Oaks HS and will major in Business Management in college. * Britania Hurst, graduated in June from Inglewood HS and will attend Princeton University. * Shevion Janae Burrows, graduated in June from St. Lucy's HS and will attend college in NY, majoring in Music. * Adrianna Shannon, is a senior at L.A. Downtown HS and plans to major in Psychology in college. * Christina Rollock, graduated in June from Inglewood HS and will major in Bio Chemistry in college. * Chelise Sudds, graduated in June from Inglewood HS and plans to study Interior Design.See the full content of this document
